As Human capital ,knowledge based perspective understands employees as Human Assets who create the value of the Organization. By joining and staying in the organization, employees invest and put at risk some of human capital. The opportunities for continuous learning and development for the employees; to feel benefited as their human capital too is deepened and expanded.

The companies therefore can retain the talented people by using Knowledge Management so that they are given an opportunity to transfer and share their knowledge

The Management can enhance retention rates of employees by recognizing the value of employee knowledge and rewarding them for it.

Engagement of employees is one of the requirement of any organization and therefore efforts are needed to integrate work and personal aspects of life so that the interests and the expectations of organization and individuals are addressed simultaneously.

Based on the needs of the organization and limited knowledge about the areas people are hired to do specific functions .These people may have never assessed or explored their full capabilities.

The Management therefore can make a job environment that is conducive for individual growth by doing the following:

  • Transfer of knowledge – making it essential part of organization
  • Build relationships and trust through face to face meetings with employees
  • Encourage to create common ground through discussions
  • Establish time and place for knowledge transfers like Talk rooms, Conference reports and inform about it.
  • Identify employees whom they think have certain interests to explore beyond their functional areas
  • Motivate employees and give them support and training to utilize their capabilities

The Management can develop strategies to encourage spontaneous exchange of knowledge.Management can build Learning Organizations by rewarding and encouraging knowledge sharing behaviors across their teams.

The collective knowledge of the organization centrally stored and readily accessible leads to:

  • Better operational efficiencies
  • Quick business outcomes
  • Collaboration among team members
  • Fast decision making
  • Streamlining of processes
  • Higher employee satisfaction
  • High employee retention rates
